Not following me on instagram or insta-stories yet?  What are you waiting for???  You missed some big news last week!  Sometimes things move very slowly in flip land (such as waiting months for a short sale such as Shorty), but other times very fast.  We looked at this this 900sf vintage cutie a week ago Thursday at 5pm and were under agreement by 11am the next day!  It won't be until August that we close, though.  This house will be an exercise in self control for me.  I'm handing it over to my contractor FULLY!  *GASP*  I won't be coordinating subs.  I won't be tiling.  I won't be painting.  I will be designing and overseeing.  And maybe a little light demo because sledge hammers are a great way to release some frustrations ;-).  He already has a name too: Cole.

Ready for big news #2?  Or at least big for me?  Copper Dot is hiring it's first employee also starting in August!  Call me crazy, but I'm actually hiring a past client who has experience in all the areas that I could use a little extra assistance in: social media, marketing, project management, and more.... I think Allison is going to be a great addition to the team and I can't wait for her to get started!! I'll introduce her to you once she gets started, but I think she'll be a great fit!

So much change going on around here lately!  All good things though!!  Today is Copper Dot Baby's FIRST DAY AT DAYCARE!!!  Eeek!  I know I haven't posted much about the little guy... or rather not-so-little-any-more guy.... he's 15 months and is pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself.  Up until now we've hobbled along with a different childcare arrangement daily (nanny, Grammy, Daddy, Nanna, & Mommy).  It was tiring.  Now he's going to be at daycare 3 days a week with the grandmas getting in their baby snuggles the other 2.

I may have driven myself into a tizzy last night realizing that we didn't have a backpack for him to take to daycare with him! (Hubby thought I was nuts.)  Thankfully that was soon remedied and we have this one on it's way from Amazon.  I'm predicting uncharted adorableness of little guy with a little backpack (which will most likely be shared on insta-stories because I can't resist!)

If there was any doubt that I have the best clients- we'll be using this Cole and Son fish wallpaper in a family bathroom and it's going to be epic!  I'll post soon about this entire home renovation and give you all the dirt.  This project isn't coming together until next year, so it will be a slow-burn, but the results are sure to be stunning.  I mean, come ON, FISH WALLPAPER!

Since I have a few kitchens in the works and kitchens on the brain, I thought I'd share with you the kitchen that I'm really digging lately from none other than Studio McGee.  After using blue cabinets in my last flip, and green in the one before that, you should know by now I'm a complete sucker for colored cabinets!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Friday Five

For today's "Friday Five" I wanted to share 5 instagram accounts that I've been finding some eye candy/inspiration in lately.

Juniper Studio- If you've been a long-time design blog follower, you probably know Jenny from Little Green Notebook and Jenny's Print Shop, so it should be no surprise that her design studio is one I love to watch!

Moss and Blue- Julianne is an awesome local artist (and soon to be mamma) who's work I have loved for a while!  She's currently working on a custom painting for one of my clients and I can't wait to see it in the room when everything is all pulled together!!  The custom work in progress is the one on the easel.  Can you tell why I'm so excited?!?

Texture Florals-  The name says it all.  Every arrangement looks like it should be a still life oil painting.

New England Loom- Well, because a good vintage rug makes me weak at the knees and these guys have me pegged.  I'll take them all, please and thank you!

Studio McGee-  Living under a rock?  That might be the only way you aren't familiar with Studio McGee these days (And if you aren't, theres about a 97.9999% chance you've seen one of their spaces without realizing it).  I mean they only have 718 THOUSAND instagram followers.  Small potatoes.  Shea McGee seems to have layering textures down to a precise science.

Friday Five

Look at me blogging twice in a week!  Starting off today with a shameless plug- Did you see yesterday's office reveal???  Here's a bonus "action" shot taken by my studio-mate, Stephanie.  Check out her blog post about our office space here.

I'm pretty sure that social media algorithms are responsible for showing me every single post from Danielle Oakey Shop, and I'm not angry one bit.  I have yet to use any of her pillows in my projects, but what I'm seeing lately is SO GOOD that it's only a matter of time!!!

Everyone is gaga over peonies and peony season (I get it!  I'm excited too!) but I REALLY can't wait for the end of summer dahlia season!  I finally got my dahlia tubers in the ground last weekend and I'm crossing my fingers that all 17 grow!  Sorry, peonies, you're gorgeous, but dahlias are the bee's knees.

I'm starting to dream hard about our next house. With an almost toddler (!!??!!) in the mix, 1100sf with a postage stamp sized lot is starting to feel pretty tight. Realistically, with both Hubby and I self employed, moving most likely doesn't make sense for another couple years.... which has me thinking of doing some minor renos around here to make the most of what we have. I'm thinking bathroom refresh, a mud room, and ac. What luxuries! I'll of course let you in on any plans as they evolve!!

I've been trying to be more active in instagram, so if I seem quiet on facebook or here, you'll find the goodies over there!  I'd love to make sure to give you guys some special stuff over there.  I share a lot more of what I'm working on in real time, things that catch my eye, and design inspiration.  Message me any design questions you may have!  If I get enough, I'll do a whole Q&A on stories.  Maybe even a live???  Pop over to instagram, say hi, comment, watch stories, and let me know what you like seeing best!!
